Our primary focus is in northern Thailand, working with children's homes that are comprised of non-Thai ethnic displaced people groups. These children are from broken families and communities that are oppressed and dysfunctional. These social environments, wherever they exist, are the birthplace of Children at Risk.
Our mission is to facilitate orphanage directors to envision and provide childcare that nurtures healthy young people and urges them to become socially responsible adults embracing family values and sustainable community.
The house parents of New Life Children's Home, Chiang Dao, Thailand, are Montree and Supah Jonnee. They are from the Lahu tribe in Northern Thailand. They speak both Thai, Lahu and a little English. Although they are documented Thai citizens they face many levels of discrimination in Thailand.
The house parent of Genesis children’s Home is Pastor Suriya (Lek) Amonsantikiree. He is of Lisu/Chinese descent, living in Chiang Dao in Northern Thailand. He speaks Thai, Lisu, Palaung, and a little English.
Lek has attended Bible School and has functioned as a Pastor. He has relationships with other children’s homes and local pastors and churches in Northern Thailand. Lek is respected and has earned our teams’ trust. We view Lek as having good future (Kingdom) value and consider it an honor to work with him.
